7 Reasons to Choose Glass Tupperware

I, like most people, being on the go and packing my meals for the road. I used to use Plastic Tupperware until I read how much toxicity it is causing to our bodies. It was actually my sister who brought it to my attention. Then I started to do more digging, and reading into why, how, and all the good nerdy science stuff. Well, I am here to share my small knowledge in basic terms. And encourage you to switch from plastic to glass.

1.       No Chemicals

This is a big one, and why manufacturers are putting BPA Free on their products. However, plastic still can cause toxins to release. The way you recycle plastic is harder and sometimes, not as reusable, as glass. Glass is easier to recycle and friendly on the eco-system. Now some have told me, it doesn’t affect me why should I worry about it. WELLLLLL… it actually is harming you slowly. So, we will save the “save the environment” speech for later. However, whenever you go to heat up your meal in a microwave, the toxins are released into your food. When you eat those toxins through your food you are increasing your risk of cancer/tumors. Making the switch to Glass is saving your internal health and the eco-system.

2.       Easier to Clean

This was so nice!! Have you ever had red sauce, and it just stains the plastic so much you can never get it clean. And you tried that fun social media trick with the water and the swooshing around. Yeah, me too. It didn’t work for me. And instead of asking all the gurus out there how to do it effectively. I just saved myself some time, and the glass comes clean so easily! The nice thing is, after a long day of an empty Tupperware sitting in a lunch box, a quick warm water soak (for 5 minutes) comes clean. Doing the dishes have never been easier than when I moved my Tupperware to Glass.

3.       Natural Flavor

I only notice this when I started to use Glass. I never realized the plastic taste I was tasting, until I switched. When you make the switch, you will notice how your food goes from tasting slightly like a processed item to fresher and better quality. You do not have to worry about a stale taste, or it having a freezer burn weirdness to it anymore. The glass preserves your food better, and when reheating it, tastes like it was first made again.

4.       Durable

It took me a while to make the switch to glass. I was always so afraid because of how clumsy I am that I would break it. I was worried one small drop of my lunch bag or the dish and would shatter, and I would be spending more money, on higher-priced Tupperware. NO!! not the case. In fact, I am still just as clumsy, I still drop things by accident. I still have slammed the Tupperware a little too hard on the counter. I have even dropped it and thought for sure it was going to crack or break. The Glass is made so durable that, again, the quality is long-lasting. So, for all my fellow clumsy peeps out there. Reassured and tested it is clumsy proof.

5.       Budget Friendly

Why is it budget-friendly? Because you aren’t spending money every so often to replace the beat-down plastic. Or my favorite I was losing lids, or not really sure how a few got misplaced. By having quality glass that is durable, and by having something that is reusable. It won’t get stained, and it will last, saving you money in the long run. That way you aren’t spending too much on replacing your plastic or buying more plastic because you lost the first set.

6.       Reheating Styles

I never really thought of this as a benefit until I had too many things going on one day. I went to reheat the leftovers and had too many appliances going. And realized my Glass Tupperware was now strong enough to go back into the oven. It was even beneficial when camping to reheat over a fire. Now, I will sound like a squawking parrot however the quality of food when reheated can be brought back to life. You do not have to rely on a microwave to reheat food. If you want to reheat those leftovers in the oven to make it taste like you just made them all over again. DO IT!! Keep the quality of your food by investing in Glass Tupperware that will preserve it for you.

7.       Organize

This was a good one, they all fit together like a present. One small Tupperware is tucked nicely inside the bigger Tupperware. It freed up so much space. It looks way more organized and beautiful in my drawers. I was able to clean out and make room for other items. So, if your kitchen is stacking one on top of the other. And you go to open that draw/cabinet and lids are spilling out at you. Save yourself the headache, and frustration of kicking those lids around. The Glass Tupperware tucks into each other making your kitchen into the organized dream you always wanted.

So, if you were on the fence about what to do and which switch to make. I am here telling you to make the switch. You won’t regret it. I was also in your spot trying to decide which route to go. Was it really worth it? And you can ask my partner, he will tell you “she is a penny pincher.” I was worried for no reason; the investment far outweighs anything. The quality of food, the fact I no longer have toxins in my body, and saving the planet. Selfishly I won unselfishly.
